Minerva announces new bunker supply operation in Argentina

Minerva Bunkering has launched a new marine fuel supply operation in Argentina, according to a company statement Dec. 20.

The service will provide deliveries of marine fuel 0.5%S and low sulfur marine gasoil in Buenos Aires and surrounding ports, including Zona Comun and Campana/Zarate.

“Offtake agreements with local refiners and the time-chartered bunker tanker MT HE MAN H, enable the physical supply system,” the statement said.

S&P Global Platts assesses pricing for 0.5%S fuel and marine gasoil in Buenos Aires, where sources have talked of stronger demand in the last few days based on agricultural exports.

Pricing for delivered marine fuel 0.5%S has averaged $594/mt in Buenos Aires so far in December, along with a $797/mt average for marine gasoil.

“By adding this new operation to Minerva’s footprint, we can offer vessels calling Argentine ports physical supply options across the length of their voyages,” Minerva’s CEO Tyler Baron said.

Minerva Bunkering is a subsidiary of privately-held Mercuria Energy Group, operating in hubs such as Geneva, New York, Singapore and Antwerp.
