Gibraltar’s Minister for Shipping, Albert Isola MP has hosted an invitation-only working breakfast at Gibraltar House in London, organised to coincide with London International Shipping Week 2015

It was attended by bunker industry leaders and also Jens Maul Jorgensen, who heads the bunker department at Oldendorff Carriers and currently serves as Chairman of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA).

The Minister took the opportunity to update those present on the ongoing work to make Gibraltar an attractive and competitive port for business and to thank them for their business, the Gibraltar Port Authority (GPA) said in a press release sent to Platts Bunkerworld.

Commodore Bob Sanguinetti, Captain of the Port reaffirmed the GPA’s determination to facilitate increasing volumes and business for Gibraltar Port.

Gibraltar is the leading bunkering port in the Mediterranean and works hard to protect this position.

It is one of the few bunkering ports that regulates the bunker industry closely through its Bunkering Code of Practice.
