    Dear Sirs,

could you please advise me on the difference between D2 from different sources. For instance, if I obtain D2 from Russia and from Malaysia, what is the main difference?

I know that the sulphur content is different. But other than that, what else differs?

How does this affect end performance?

Would love to hear from you soon.

Well, what do you mean by "obtain D2 from Russia and from Malaysia?" I assume what you mean is the difference between Russian D2 spec and Petronas D2 spec, right?

If that is the case, sulphur content is a key difference. There are other differences such as pour point, color, flashpoint, density etc. Even Russian D2 can have different spec.

    Hey John,

thanks for your reply. you are right. i was asking about the differences between russian D2 and petronas D2.

to the end user, what does the difference in sulphur content mean?

it is almost 10 times different? (0.2 vs. 0.02)

    would appreciate your reply soon!

to the end user it simply means low sulfur emission, lower acid rain to the environment..

    I'm still curious about this.

Other than the environmental impacts of using high sulphur content D2, and the possible damage of equipment, also due to the high sulphur content, is there any advantages of using Petronas D2?

For instance more power for the engine etc?

How then can we account for the difference in pricing between the 2 different D2?

Could the difference in pricing just be due to the difference in abundance of supplies?

    Still confused.
