    Good day Dr Vis,

Is it possible to blend MGO/MDO to Fuel Oil of RMG 380 cSt which is actually off spec as per analysis due to the Viscocity. The Viscocity after analysis is 389 cSt.

If it's possible, how to calculate the amount of MGO/MDO required for blending to bring down the Viscocity back to the recommended levels TMG 380 cSt levels.

    Tx.

    Dear Mr Raj,
We operate steam, diesel and combustion turbines units for electricity generation in Spain. During a number of years, for our medium speed engines, we have mixed MGO with HFO 380 (2.7%S) for viscosity control at a ratio of 93%HFO+7%MGO without a problem. Presently we are running these engines burning only HFO. We have not observed problems and you can imagine the cost reduction we are benefiting from.
