28th Mar 2008 Logistics and transport sector - rail and road links from Gwadar to other areas and to the landlocked neighboring countries is no doubt an important from government. It is a highly capital intensive area which cannot be established in a few days time period and it requires extensive planning. Planning should be done in fashion that rather than snatching business of Karachi ports, the Gwadar Port should attract additional cargo in the country. The focus of government should be to make it a transshipment hub. This way Karachi ports would receive feeder vessels from Gwadar rather than Dubai.
