    Washington State Ferries has been running highway diesel fuel for several years now in its fleet. They burn approximately 18 million gallons a year of the fuel. They are also pilot testing biodiesel blends in the ferries and have adopted a fuel use reduction strategy that has been quite effective in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
