SIMPLE AND COST EFFECTIVE WAY FOR REDUCED NOX EMISSION.

Most engines can meet the MARPOL Annex VI limits by tuning the combustion process.
Operations including modifying the spray pattern, injection timing, intensity of injection and injection rate profile (injection rate shaping), compression ratio, scavenge air pressure and scavenge air cooling. Delayed injection timing is very effective in reducing NOx but increases fuel consumption and smoke.

If retarded injection timing is combined with the use of PP3-F Fuel oil treatment and PPC Cylinder oil additive there will not be any increased fuel consumption and a decrease of smoke emission.

Conclusion:
Reduced NOx about 7% for every 1 degree retarded injection timing.
Reduced smoke emission.
Direct fuel saving exceeding the cost for the additives used.
Reduced exhaust temperature.
