    GOOD DAY DR VIS,

    JUST A QUICK QUESTION ..

    CAN YOU USE CRUDE OIL AS MARINE FUEL OIL. IF POSSIBLE WAHT WOULD BE THE MERIT AND DE MERITS ON MAIN ENGINES.

    Dear Mr.Algamri,

    It is not a question of merits or demerits. You are not allowed to store on board a ship, fuel with a flashpoint less than 60 degC. This is also not permitted by classification societies.

    It is also not advisable to blend crude oil with fuel oil. There have been recorded cases where attempts to blend crude oil and bunker fuel have resulted in accidents - explosion damage in storage tanks, etc.
