    dear sir,
    would ypu plearse advise me how much is the max. rate of chloride in ifo 380. also I know that there is no chlorid in ISO 8217.

    ISO 8217 covers both distillate fuels and heavy fuels. There is no reference to chloride content for both fuels. If the chloride came from sodium chloride (salt/sea water contamination) we will look at sodium content. For 1% sea water the sodium will be 108 ppm. Usually when sodium is present, chloride is also present. On rare occasions sodium may come from sodium hydroxide or other alkali used to treat sour crude (high sulphur crude).

    The sodium should not exceed 50ppm.
