The 7th Annual Bunkering in the Baltic and North Sea Conference, takes place amid continuing increases in fuel costs and volatility in the market, and new regulations in place and proposed. With two SECAs now in place, concerns remain about the availability and quality of low sulphur fuel, as well as costs, and dependability of the supply chain.

The conference includes a combination of panel discussions, discussion forum, and presentations to focus on the main issues for suppliers, operators and maritime administrations.

The 30th Motorship Propulsion and Emissions Conference focuses on key topics affecting the global shipping industry, with particular emphasis on environmental issues.

Course Summary
This course is designed to provide delegates with a comprehensive understanding of the production and the drivers of price and quality of fuel oil. Using this knowledge, the course then investigates the day-to-day aspects of the bunker industry and describes the supply chain and factors that influence it. In addition the course examines concerns of buyers and sellers of marine bunker fuels and the economic effects of anticipated changes to supply. Candidates will gain an understanding of why bunker prices and quality vary, and the effects of such volatility and how it can be mitigated. On completion of the course all participants will have a thorough understanding of the day-to-day mechanics of the bunker industry and in addition an understanding of the factors influencing the global fuel market.

The seminar will focus on the design and maintenance of bulk liquid storage tanks, and will deal with issues ranging from desludging, sludge processing and control strategy, to corrosion control and repair methodologies. UPDATED materials on tank cleaning and fire protection will be covered by our expert seminar leader during the four-day course. In addition, special attention will be given to:
