Marlab
6th Oct 2008
Marlab has been invited to be a leading consultant in the takeover/management and Improvement of a previously state-owned shipyard in the Middle East.
The management/owner group will consist of 2 sub-groups, investors with 70% of shares and consultants with 30%.
The investors may be silent partners or interested in the daily management of the yard - that is open to discussion in each individual case.
The investment requirement is 10 M USD up-front, with a promise of 25 M USD over the next 3 years.
The yard already has contracts for equipment in the oil/gas industry and is a working yard today, although it needs effective management and the addition of newer technology, especially in the shipbuilding division.
If you have the capital and interest then we would be very pleased to discuss the matter in more detail.
The first portion of 2 MUSD is now promised by a personal client of mine. For this 2 MUSD my client is recieving a 14% share of the yard when it is taken over. We are now down to a requirement of 8 MUSD up front investment.
Financial statements, debt statements, production statements and projections for both portions of the company (oil/gas & shipbuilding) are currently being prepared and the project prospectus is expected to be ready by next weekend. After that, visits to the yard and investment negotiations can begin with those who have stated a willingness to invest.
FYI, the shipyard will be run on a daily basis by the consultant group which will consist of a local company STC and Marlab, and any investor who wishes to participate. The new yard will ultimately be controlled by a board. Investors, STC and Marlab will have places on this board depending on thier portion of the yard owned.
I have negotiated the complete control of all design and drawing activities in the company for Marlab. This will mean that for the future, all Marlab ships of a significant size, such as accomodation barges, tank barges, etc. will be built at this yard, and that production of the Marlab Floating Village concept has come a huge step forward.
The yard will also be able to handle repairs, not only to ships, but to rigs and other oil/gas equipment.
