Our client are a major bunker trading company and provide a wide range of products and services to the international marine industry. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Bunker Trader to join their expanding team in Dubai.


Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate potential business opportunities and evaluate and develop existing or potential co-operations
• Generate a profitable bunker trading activity by bringing, creating and maintaining a portfolio of customers
• Assess financial status of all potential customers and get Management’s approval prior to any business, as well as follow up and recovery of late payments
• Follow up on all operational aspects related to a bunker enquiry and nomination (liaise with the customer, agents, Master /Chief eng., suppliers, surveyors, Port Authorities, ensure timely invoicing to suppliers and customers, handle & settle claims …)
• Monitor daily the market prices in the region
• Get the complete picture related to any enquiry (owners/charterer, vessel’s call (last / next port, competitors…) in order to boost margins and optimize the deals
• Together with the rest of the members of the team, must be able to set, follow and achieve targets within a very competitive international environment


Key Requirements:

• Must possess a working knowledge of the shipping and maritime industry as well as bunker fuel operations
• Must have a proactive approach and the ability to work under pressure
• Should demonstrate a team spirit attitude and will be required to coach / train junior staff involved in trading and/or operations.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Global outlook. Able to work across organisational and cultural boundaries
